30 Years of Japanese Fashion
On Wednesday 3rd November 2010 we traveled down to London to visit the Barbican as there is currently an exhibition about Japanese fashion. As we are studying innovation design at the moment this exhibition was ideal. It really helped me to gain a better understanding of innovation, there were some amazing garments that were very unique and out of the ordinary. some of the designers are Rei Kawakuba, Issey Miyake and Junya Watanobe. I feel that they are not only designers but also inventors as they create things that have never been seen before. There were some strange shapes and fabrics used and also had garments on stands with a 2D verison of the pattern on layed out on the floor next to it, it was strange to see how it becomes 3D once put onto the model.
